Canon USA- A Snapshot into their New Digs

Long Island based Canon USA, one of the world’s most well-known and successful companies, celebrated the completion of the first step toward their new headquarters back in May. The last piece of steel—sporting a small evergreen tree in its center— was lifted to the top of the structure after being signed by both Canon’s President Joe Adachi and VP Seymour Liebman. This marks a major accomplishment in the construction of Canon’s new 700,000 square foot building located in Melville. This new space is expected to service all of North and South America.

The building, which is being constructed using primarily green technology, will feature a gourmet cafeteria, relaxation room, fitness center, library and almost 500,000 square feet of parking. “Our concept is ‘green office.’ We’re going to make this very environmentally oriented; not only on the site, but also inside.”

This building is one of only three located around the world- its sisters residing in London and Tokyo. The $500 million dollar project is set to be completed by next year and Adachi hopes it will be one that will leave a legacy.

This facility is not only for us, but for future generations. We’d like to be a good corporate citizen for Huntington, Long Island and New York State.
